Comments About the Workshops
“Helen has encouraged me to do mosaic art at three workshops. I previously had very little experience doing any sort of art work. At school I did not get a great deal of encouragement and had no confidence in my ability and really did not enjoy art. Art was a chore, a class I dreaded. My experiences with Helen have helped me overcome my art block. I now see art as a journey or exploration. I am really enjoying mosaic art”.
Jenni , Veterinary Nurse
“Making mosaics is so enjoyable, but also extremely addictive! I spend lots of time at garage sales and op shops building up my supplies and I find I can’t throw away any broken china. At least it’s a sustainable and creative way to reuse favourite china that the kids have broken!”
Rosemary, Community Activist.
“I enjoyed the mosaic workshop because I got to use the part of my brain I do not always utilise in my usual work. It was great to have a creative piece of work as a result.”
Janine, Social Worker
“My background is in digital photography. I enjoyed the mosaic session because it is so different, it’s tactile and three dimensional, I got my hands dirty!”
David, Graphics Student
“My friend Jen completed a mosaic workshop that Helen ran, despite being quite unwell. I’ll always remember Jen saying how she found the experience to be completely absorbing; that working with her hands, creating a thing of functional beauty, was like a gift to the soul.”
Catherine, Learning Consultant
“Because Helen believes in a sustainable environment she incorporates, wherever possible, the use of recyclable materials.”
Robyn, Art Teacher
“We decided it would be good for members and staff to take time out and do something creative together. We found Helen and we organised a group of ladies and off we went. We laughed, had fun and found our creativity with Helen’s help! We all went home with a finished item that we were all happy with. What a wonderful afternoon we had! Thanks Helen.”
